Phew... that was scary.
I almost lost my internet just now!

The WOW tech came to my door... aparently they didn't get the notice that I was going to take over my Mom's accout, and sent him to take all the equipment back. But the tech was really nice and after an hour with both of us on his cell phone my cable modem is safe.

Wow... the joys and perils of being a homeowner.

As a precautionary measure for next time, be sure to back up the Internet on a CD. :)

Woah. I didn't realize that you are now a homeowner.

That's a pretty big deal. How do you feel about it?

How does that work with your other siblings?

Well... I’m determined but scared. I don’t have all the numbers yet …so I don’t know if my brother and I can even do it, but I think we can if we play our cards right. It’s our childhood home…and I don’t want to loose it. Firstly because we now have a house… and that’s one of life’s goals, to get land an a house. Why get rid of it just to try and get one again a couple years later? Why pay someone else’s’ mortgage when we can pay our own? I’ve been taking care of the domestic stuff the past couple years anyway with Mom’s knees out of wack… granted not as thorough as others, but clean enough…so I know what I’m doing there. My very rough estimate is $1200 a month for everything. So if my brother and I can come up with half each we should be ok. And if we can make $1200 each a month anyway, then we should have enough for our own private bills…. Maybe.

My bro is 50/50 on wanting to keep the house. He says in the end it's just things. But these things are also practical... money isn't going to give a roof over our heads. We shall see. I want to live with him. We are polar opposites...and have been known to fight... but we are also believers in the "blood is thicker than water" idea, so we'll always be loyal to each other. If we can live together long term is another thing. I think we can, but I've been known to be an opitimist.
