Which do you use?

Have you fallen in love with the immediacy and embeddeness of the quick reply function, or, are you a traditionalist who takes comfort from being able to scan the graemlins and click the various text effects?

Or, is one good for some posts, but not for others.

Usually Quick Reply. Almost always. I've pretty much even forgotten that that other option is there.

Um, in fact, strike that "almost." The only times I can think of that I've seen the graemlins lately are when I started a topic or edited a post.

Usually quick reply, but when I'm going to be using the "url" button, I click into the "full reply", although sometimes not until I get to the actual part where I need the button.

I'm too lazy to type out all the code for the url or list functions, but otherwise, I just type the code. So, urls and lists are the only reasons for me not to use the quick reply.

As Papa Moose I use quick reply, as Papa Janitor I use the regular reply. I don't use any of the text formatting buttons, though, and rarely use the graemlins. It's just when I "Ctrl-End" to get to the bottom of the page, with the quick reply form and the google ads at the bottom, I can't even see the last post. It kinda annoys me. But since I'm much more likely to do pithy one-line responses as Papa Moose, I leave it there.

I use "Quick Reply" most of the time, except when I have to insert a link or a smiley I don't know the code for (but that list is getting shorter and shorter). I type the italics, bold and

tags. Never used "code" or "email". I think I've only used lists once or twice but that was waaay before QR appeared.

Notice that if you start typing into the quick reply form and you suddenly decide you want graemlins or code tags or something you can click the full reply form button and presto!

<clicks button>

It copies the text into the new window for you automatically. It is nice.

That's why I always start in QR.

QR is too easy, too tempting, and...it has a nifty abbreviation. QR, QR, QR!

Just to the left of my Quick Reply screen is a little blue Instant Graemlins. When I make a clicky on it, all my little graems appear. I clicky on the graem, and he pops into my Quick Reply text. [Cool]

I'm a slave to the QR. Is that a bad thing?

(I didn't realize it)

QR is a gentle master. Just try not to wake him when he is sleeping in late. That makes him angry. Then he takes out the whips...*whimper*. But let us think of happier things!

This is my first message in Quick Reply. I still use Post Reply because I would keep getting Add Reply and Post Reply mixed up. It would say my form was incomplete or something of the sort... So I believe I'll stick with post reply.

I already did type in code for most everything... So I use quick reply. Plus, I have dial up and it's hard enough waiting for my post to go up, without waitin g for a reply screen to load...

I mostly use the quick reply now, but sometimes I will be in the midst of typing a reply and realize I need a graemlin or a link function, so I will hit "full reply form" in the middle of my posting, and it will move what I have written so far over to the full reply form so I can continue.
