I like swing a lot, particularly new swing music. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for new music to check out in that genre.
I like Royal Crown Review, and I have some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; I also have a few compilations, and those I really like. I like hearing a lot of new sounds, and those disks let me hear new bands without having to buy their whole CD.

I don't know how new you mean, but the big Swing boom in the mid 90's was great. Let's see. Cherry Poppin Daddies is a great band, Squirel Nut Zipper is good as well. And the Brian Setzer Orchestra did some pretty awesome swing style remakes of old songs.

Maybe this isn't quite what you're looking for, but I'll mention it just in case. John Stevens is coming out with a CD in April. He's the guy from last year's American Idol who was out about half-way through the competition, but wow, he can sing swing! You can listen to one of the songs on his website, and he sounds amazingly like Frank Sinatra, and he's only 17! I'm very much looking forward to the CD. I think he'll be doing a lot of the old standards though, as opposed to new swing.

I don;t care so much about old vs new, I just put new in the title because I didn;t want everyone talking about Benny Goodman and whatnot...not that there is anything wrong with that, not ata ll.
I have heard he could sing swing, I will probably go listen to it at B&N and find out if I like it.
I really like compilation disks too, so I am hoping that someone will have some suggestions for me in that area too.

It was a dismal movie, but the soundtrack to Three to Tango is pure swingy goodness.
For a little less mainstream neoswing check out Indigo Swing. They're very groovy. Can I use the word "groovy" to describe swing, or is that pop culture blasphemy?

I haven't heard of many of these -- I will have to check them out because I love swing! I pretty much do my swing dancing to Asleep at the Wheel though.

I like Colin James. He was doing new swing before it was a thing and his Safronia is awesome to dance to and a lot of his other stuff is almost as good. One thing though is that a bunch of his albums are straight blues, so if you're specifically looking for swing, you should test them out before buying.
You hit the other 4 bands I like for this, but Stephen's Last Night in Town by Ben Folds Five is a good song to swing to as well.
