Can people who post TinyURL links at least tell us in their message where they link to, so that we can decide whether they're worth clicking?

Why use TinyURL at all on hatrack? Putting custom text in the URL tag takes care of the main issue without getting a third party involved.

On the bright side, people have been relatively respectful about it. Certainly no one has done the slashdot thing of posting a link to tubgirl or goatse, which is a very good thing.

Some links aren't allowed, such as links with URL encoded characters in them (such as parentheses). I've had problems in the past posting links to Wikipedia articles, for instance.

The only case in which it would be appropriate is when the destination page is a joke, and you don't want people checking out the URL beforehand.
