Now, admittedly, I didn't get in until 10, and was gone for 30 minutes noonish. And I was out Monday and Tuesday because of my move.

But these schedules have got to be worked out (and, assuming it all checks out when I finish cross-checking, I think that has actually happened!) before the teachers' orientation tomorrow. Not to mention the million-and-one other things that must get done before school starts next week.

And I don't have the kids tonight.

*stretches* Ok, break over! Back to work.

Who knows, I may get home before 11.

[Wall Bash]

There is STILL one teacher scheduled to teach two classes at the same time. And while I was able to tweak one minor thing and fix the other one like that (by going back to an earlier permutation), I can't fix this. The principal will have to. And that's just going to mess it all up again. [Cry]

But I am doing one other little thing (totally unrelated to schedules, thank God), and going HOME.

Thanks for the sympathy. [Smile] And Shan, I like living through others vicariously. Vacation away! [Big Grin]

But do you still love the teaching?

I'm asking selfishly because I think I want to get my alternative teaching certification (no education credits in college), but I hear so much about burnout and politics.

No one ever talks about the 12-hour days teachers have to endure. I hope your night was peaceful after you finished up at work.

Get home 22:00.

Heh. That wasn't the "teacher" part of my job; that was the "secretary/chief-bottle-washer" part of my job.

Today I get to wear both hats, since I am both (one of two people) setting up and coordinating the orientation, and also attending it.

And sometime before next Wednesday, I have to get ready to start teaching. *weak laugh*

Thanks for all the sympathy and support, guys! I'm off to the salt mines shortly. [Big Grin]

I don't mean to make light of your stress, rivka, but I couldn't help thinking "OK, break's over! Back on your heads!" when I read that line.

[ROFL] That's funny because I look a lot younger than I am. Today one of the teachers even thought I was a freshman! [Roll Eyes] (Granted, I'd never had him, but a lot of my friends have and I've been around more than a few times when they were talking to him.) But that's okay, because if I'm anything like my mom this looking younger than my age thing will follow me. She looks at least ten years younger than she is.

(unrelated to subject, related to last post) In the middle of my senior year there were some sixth graders (i hope) on a field trip to watch LeMis, I was standing outside waiting on my mom in during this, and the principal told me I needed to get on my bus and go back to the elementary schools. This principal had been their all four years I had, had been principal, you would expect him to at least know that I existed right? I guess not. So I guess I look very young too.

Schedule is still in limbo, but I've decided it just ain't my problem. [Big Grin]

Today was the teacher's orientation. I didn't expect to be able to attend the whole thing, due to my other responsibilities, but I was hoping to attend the majority of it.

HAH!

Sadly, the other science teacher's father has suddenly been taken ill. [Frown] So as of 6 am this morning, we needed a new science teacher. [Eek!]

So, in between getting everything ready for the orientation (copies, setting out the food and coffee and such, dealing with teachers), I made calls trying to track down potential replacements. Miraculously, we found one. He was even able to come in today; was interviewed and hired.

But between that and various other emergencies, I was able to attend all of about 45 minutes of the orientation (in two chunks).

*sigh*
