a friend of my parents' was hit by lightning on a golf course about 10 years ago. She survived, and went through a lot of recuperation. She still plays golf. Actually, my mom told me that a few months ago there was another thunderstorm when this woman was out on the golf course. An attendant at the club drove a golf cart to her, and she got in. He drove it too quickly and she fell out when he turned a curve and broke a bone.

I don't know if God hates golfers in general. Maybe it's just those that play in tournaments on the Sabbath. This strike was on a Saturday, you know, the actual Sabbath, so, I wouldn't put it past him to make a point. Of course, if you believe the Sabbath is on Sunday, you could look at it as either retribution for playing on all those other Sundays, or a preemptive strike for the next day.

At least one of those golfers is a friend of the couple whose cabin we stayed at last weekend. They told us that one of the golfers was in a coma, and they asked us to keep him in our prayers. Sounds like he pulled through okay, though.
