I'm really excited about this. I've always wanted to go into space, but it's unlikely I'll ever get into NASA's astronaut corps (my eyesight is really bad, among other things). But hey, if this works out they might start taking passengers up. If it's economical, we may someday buy space tickets like we buy plane tickets. One can only hope!

Without competition, nothing is efficent. Hopefully, private space sector will prove a strong market--mining, perhaps?

I'm guessing that soon enough they'll be using these things or something like them to try asteroid mining. There are some nifty little boogers in near-Earth orbits.

This is awesome! And, now that it's also a commercial venture, progress will skyrocket I think (and hope).
I'm of a mind with Slash on things like this. Also in the news was a recent USSC decision about giving one's name to the police, which got much more attention (I noticed) than did this commercial spaceflight. Who'll remember what in fifty years?
