Jatraqueros met in DC yesterday and, with their appearance, the mayhem began.

People were hanging from trees and trying to fit illegal numbers of people into their cars. Some were also having trouble finding their cars.

With the meeting of the tribal council, plots of stealing feathers abounded and slinkies became popular once again. Balloons are now essential components of personality tests. It was also decided that Georgia O'Keefe would never be allowed to visit the US Botanical Gardens.

Oh, yes, and OKDelta. [Big Grin]

Aside from that, the company was great, the conversation wild, and the food... well, it depends on if you're wondering about the Thai or the vendors'. [Smile]

::laughs:: There's more than ample material for it, I'm sure.

Why did you all think Alexis and I were laughing so much? [Evil]

You know, I never DID figure all of those out.

But I still say your "hands-on learner" one wins.

I meant to say "visual" but I suppose that's not much better either. [Big Grin]

I actually need people to post some of the OoC comments because I barely remember any of them. Yeah, I've got a bad memory.

I think Pix summed it up pretty well and I can't wait to see all the pictures.

Boy! Did I get a sunburn! Didn't even want to leave the house yesterday.

Things I learned:

A DC bird, unlike a DC congressman, knows who feeds them and is appropriately deferential.

Risuena is appropriately named. As is Pix.

Street Vendor food will not kill you. At least not right away.

There's a great place to hide a body right in front of the Hirshorn Museum.

If you lie in the grass amidst hula-hoops in a sculpture garden, people will think you're a performance artist.

Tom D, a rubber duck, and the front window of a 5-star restaurant are a near-lethally funny combination.

I wish I were even half as cool, together, and outgoing as Noah when I was his age.

Half a day with Kasie H is half a day too little.

I heard about this one on the phone last night and I wish I could've been there. [Big Grin]

Tom also had a nasty sunburn.

Pics are up in the Hatrack album, but my new host seems to have a poor version of the GD library running and the thumbnails are all weird:

The duck picture came out so much better than I could have imagined! Makes me laugh just looking at it. All the pictures are really good but I think that one and the one of Pix in front of the lunar cow/bird/whatever-it-was are my favorites.

What no one has posted about the men's room sign (and the main reason for the photo of it) is that the sign makes a show of including the braille code for (presumably) "Men's Room", yet:

#1 the sign was 6 feet off the ground hanging over the doorway, making it accessible only to blind people who think to waive their hands in the air.

#2 said blind person wouldn't get any info anyway because the "braille" is only printed on, it is not embossed even a tiny bit.

But unfortunately this probably fulfills the letter of some 800 page document designed to insure handicapped accessibility in public places. Your tax dollars at work. [Roll Eyes]
