The following is not a landmark post, just my thoughts on something that never would have happened to me if it weren't for Hatrack.
When Katharina posted her landmark thread and told the story about her mother, it prompted me to start that thread about mothers. I thought of my own mother who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The very day that I started that thread, I got an e-mail from a member of Hatrack. She had looked up my e-mail address in my profile and wrote me to express her concern for me. I replied to that e-mail and we've become friends. She is the best friend I have. She allows me to vent and share with her my innermost feelings. I feel comfortable talking to her. I normally don't feel comfortable talking to women. I'm very shy.
This jatraquera is compassionate, friendly, and always knows how to make me laugh when I'm feeling down. She came into my life when I was feeling blue.
My purpose in starting this thread is to publicly thank her for being there for me. Though there are many at Hatrack that I consider friends, this particular jatraquera has become a true friend. You know what a true friend is don't you? It's someone who knows everything about you and likes you anyway.
Oh, I guess I should get around to thanking her. To that special jatraquera, thank you.
I haven't mentioned the name of this fine lady for fear of embarrassing her. There is one person at Hatrack who knows her name. Well, one besides her, of course. CalvinMaker/Noah knows who I'm talking about. I won't reveal her name unless she says it's OK.
I believe that true friendship is a rare commodity. I'm blessed to have found such friend.
I hope that everyone here can find at least one such person in there lives.
The friendship that I have with her is one that I hope will last forever. She accepts me for who I am, faults and all.
I really don't know if anyone will read this post, much less respond to it, but I had to publicly thank her for being there. Again, thank you.

I've made many true friends at Hatrack. So I know what you mean. This place is great. Every time I think about leaving it, I think about all my great friends that I've met here and then think about all the new people I might miss meeting if I go. And so I can't ever manage to leave completely.

aka, I know what you mean. This particular jatraquera came into my life at a point when I was feeling pretty low. Katharina's post about her mom hit me pretty hard. This person just e-mailed me out of the blue. She took the time to dig up my e-mail address from my profile and e-mailed me.
Yet again I'd like to say to that special someone, thank you my friend.

I'm trying to keep this on the first page so that the person I wrote it about will be able to find it.

i'm also trying to boost my post count so I can do an actual landmark thread, but mostly I'm bumping this so the person I wrote it about can find it easily.
I just want her to know what her friendship means to me.
((((That special Jatraquera)))) and

BTW, Derrell, if you want to make a landmark you don't have to wait for a special post count. It is the tradition, but you can always break it if you want to : for exemple, I haven't made a landmark for my 1000 post, but waited to have something to tell (the announce of my wedding with my beloved Vincent).

(((Anna))) Congratulations. I hope that some day I can make the announcement that I've found my one true love.
I guess the purpose of starting this thread was to publicly acknowledge that special friend and all she's done for me. I want jer to know what her friendship means to me. I guess I should also thank the Cards for creating Hatrack, for if not for Hatrack, she and I would never have met. Well, we haven't actually met, but we have become friends.
When I do finally make a landmark post, I only hope it will be half as insightful as those that have gone before.

Yeah, right Nathan. This person is far better looking than you, even in your orange tights. She is way better looking than you are. Sorry, Nathan.

You know, I don't claim to know who this person is, but with the vast majority of girls [edit]here on hatrack[/edit] that are attractive (both in physical and personality aspects) I am positive that you are correct.

Given that we only have 2 jatraqueras from foreign countries, I'll make it easier for Nate and say it's not me.

I thought we had a few more than that -- there's you, Anna, our various female Aussie and Kiwi members, Amira, and probably at least a couple that I've forgotten

Derrell, if you all you really want is to make sure she sees it, you can email her with a link directly to it. That should clinch it.
