Just wanted everyone to know that after I sign off at work here at 4:30 today, I'm off work for two weeks, so probably won't post much.
In fact, I'm going to try to take Annie's advice and see how long I can stay away from most major technology (computer, cell phone, etc). Since I will be on "security lock-out" at work, that means I can't check work e-mail from home either (all the better!) I really need to un-hook for awhile, since my work is technology, technology, technology.
I will use my first week of vacation to just STAY HOME and get the place ready for winter -- plastic on windows, straw bales around the foundation (heck, I could probably buy enough straw bales to stack up the entire north and west sides of the house up to the roof and still not spend as much as I will spend on propane heating gas). Till the garden under and mulch/manure it for next year; hit everything with the mower one more time before first freeze, get machines ready for winter, etc.
The less time I spend at the computer on my "home" week, the better.
The second week, I will be in Chicago for work training, for visiting my sister, and for visiting BannaOJ and GoodyS while there (I hope).
So may not be back until the 18th.
(but you're still stuck with me for the rest of today)

I'm sorry, Farmgirl, were you under the impression that you hadn't become a fixture of Hatrack?
I'm glad you let us know what you were going to be up to. I hope your tech-free working vacation is relaxing, and that you get your house nice and insulated. That reminds me--I need to do some weather-proofing at my place as well.

Oh Noemon -- I'm going to miss our very early morning (7 AM) thread exchanges -- some days you and I are the only ones posting at that hour.

Well, barring my workplace's smart filter catching on to hatrack and blocking it, I'll still be here when you get back. But yeah, I'll miss that too.

Sorry Stephen! I wasn't sure if you were actually in Chicago proper or one of the outlying areas! I'll put you on my list! I think AJ knows how to get ahold of you, and can let me know while I'm there (boy, this is a lot to fit into that week!)

Hey, FarmGirl, send me an email and let me know when you're going to be headed to Chicago, and what your schedule will be like while you're there. A road trip may be in order.
*just realized that the usual crowd in Chicago isn't enough to get Noemon here. We have to import coolness from elsewhere. More harumphs.*
