Asajj Ventress was one of the legitimately cool new characters featured in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars mini-series. Heck, she was the lead antagonist up until Anakin defeated her in Chapter 19. Silent, lethal, skull-faced and quite a fun villain.
(She was originally conceived as a possible design for Darth Tyranus, until they cast Christopher Lee and decided to make Dooku the same character.)
I was looking forward to her return in the new CGI Clone Wars series...only to find out her career post Chapter 19 isn't all that great. The once hyper-kinetic action-oriented nascent Sith has become...chatty. Instead of leaping into action she stands around and pouts. She pouts a lot. She's barely able to accomplish more than making empty threats, uttering transparent lies, shaking her fist, and retreating as soon as it looks like she might have to break a sweat.
Not a very impressive way to treat one of the few female villains in the franchise.
