It's the Conquistadorian helmet, and the style of the pauldrons on Miraz's armor that mostly made me think Spanish. I'd have to see the the full body armor to really get a feel for it.
Looking at the Telmarine soldier, the vest does look a bit more Italian, maybe Venetian to be specific, though really it depends on the time period.
I need to get a medieval arms and armor book, I feel like I should know this.

I can't believe these movies are coming out.
If they are anywhere near as well-done as the first one...oh man. Particularly Voyage of The Dawn-Treader. Particularly where Eustace becomes a dragon and cries. Also, particularly the end, where Reepicheep gets in his little boat and paddles onward...it touches my heart when he does that.

It's really exciting, especially after those BBC versions my hubby lovingly refers to as "The Lion, The Witch, and Dr. Who".

Personally I didn't think it was a spectacular adaptation and could have been better, but it was perfectly watchable.

I liked the first film quite a bit, but the book is much better.
Still, since I consider Prince Caspian to be the weakest book in the series, I'm looking forward to the retooled, revamped version they have planned for the screen.
