I've just been put in charge of organizing and emceeing a fashion show for spring fashions. It's part of a bigger event, organized around Mother's day. First of all, has anyone ever done this before? I'm kind of stressed, because I've never had to do something so major so fast, it's in early May. A local boutique is providing all the clothes, but I have to arrange models, get them fitted, organize delivery of everything, write all the copy that I'm going to say about each outfit, etc. Yikes!
I need music for the runway, when the models are walking. Needs to be upbeat, of course, and preferably having something to do with our theme. Yellow is the theme color and the fashion show is supposed to be "Sunny clothes for spring and summer". The only song selection I have so far is the obvious choice, "Walking on Sunshine." I need at least four-five more. The whole fashion show segment will be about 20 minutes.
Help me Hatrack! You're my only hope!

I'd recommend "I'm Too Sexy", "These Boots are Made for Walking", "Mother", and "Afternoon Delight."

Um...guys...maybe I should mention it's a function sponsored by a church. "I'm too Sexy" is probably not appropriate.

Were these the lyrics you were thinking of, Aod? Even if they weren't Around the World is still a pretty good song. It's peppy, but still.. sort of slow and soft. I've got it if you'd like to listen to it, Belle.

I know nothing about this, but my roommate, who is into fashion, suggests a group called Bond. They're mostly instrumental, and apparently rather upbeat. She also said that Cirque du Soleil soundtracks might be good, and some group called E.S Posthumous.

If the show is based around Mothers' Day, does that mean it's just for mothers or mothers and daughters? If it's a girl thing you could always do Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Probably hafta do a lot of listening to select what's appropriate for your venue. But then you can listen to the tracks as background while working on other aspects of the show.
