This is just an indroduction of and by myself.

The names Kyle. I've lived in San Diego since the beginning of my days. I enjoy art, writing, reading, reading what i've written and tearing my work to shreads, and cheese (preferably American because i'm just patriotic like that). Sometimes, if I'm in just the right mood, I'll sit down and snap open a Orson Scott Card book and read.

I'm a junior in High School (sigh), and am looking forward to a post-highschool education where I plan to major in English*.

If you'd like to harass me about my grammatical and spelling errors, feel free, although if you decide to talk to me about OSC, that's just fine as well. Hope to talk to some of you real soon.

*Plans are subject to change and most likely have since date of publication

Hello, Kyle.

Welcome to Hatrack--what other kinds of cheese do you like? We must wean you of your loyalty to American cheese. Well, if you mean cheese made in America, that's just fine. If you mean the Velveeta-like stuff wrapped in cellophane, that's another story.

However, I will not let that affect my opinion of you too much--especially since you like Orson Scott Card's work, which we will all agree speaks well of you! [Wink]

(just don't tell ketchupqueen you don't like ketchup, or you will be smitten.)

Meh. As though the world hasn't got enough English majors already. Why not major in something useful, like Applied Crocheting?

I've seriously considered studying Fondology: The study of Fondling and Groping. You don't see too many of those in a day. Unfortunately, my college advisor advocated against; 207,658 to one against in fact.

Ignore KoM. He's old and crotchety. [Smile]

Have you tried halloumi? It's a very interesting cheese, and it tastes great when it's cubed, dipped in flour/cayenne or paprika, and deep fried. Very very nummy. [Smile]

Welcome!

How 'bout Fonduelogy: The study of dipping small food pieces into melted cheese?

OK-- Fonduelogy: The study of dipping small food pieces into melted cheese, chocolate, or hot oil.

Better?

Kyle, FYI, no disrespect intended. Derailing threads into random food conversations seems to be a habit here on Hatrack!

I'm sure you'll get more traditional welcomes once people with a normal sleep schedule see this.

Although, don't be surprise if some threaten to eat you. That never happened to me, since I never properly introduced myself.

p.s. Not to imply that quid doesn't have a normal sleep schedule -- umm, she just lives on the other side of the world from you and me.

Wait, when did you imply that I don't have a normal sleep schedule? Did I miss something? Or are you hallucinating again?

Pesky hallucinations. Didn't know they were that obvious.

I am so tired that I probably am hallucinatory (but I can still spell it!). Anyway, since you and I and KoM were the only recent posters, and since I said that about "when people with normal sleep schedules see this," I thought you would jump right in with something like "it's noon in Sri Lanka right now, y'know!"

But it's 2:30 am in Georgia, so I am definitely going to go to bed now and quit trying to explain my meaningless babble!

I apparently don't have a normal sleep schedule either atm. Does that mean I can post?

Anyways, as far as cheese goes. Muenster wins. Seriously, that is my favorite cheese by far. Well, at least for when I'm just eating cheese. Not so much when it is melted or whatnot. In that case cheddar or mozzarella are preferred, depending on what I'm eating.

I think I'll write a thesis on Fonduelogy:The study of dipping small food pieces into melted cheese hot oil and chocolate. Of course, i'm likely to rip it all to shreads.

SO! JumboWumbo, what have you got against gnomes? Think you're too good to fondue gnomes?
Or are ya just one of them folks who like to stir up trouble along with your cheese and chocolate?
