I was just reading through the Alvin Maker series again and noticed that in The Crystal City there are a lot of referances to events that I don't remember from the other books. I checked about three times to make sure that I was really reading the sixth book!
Is there another book between Heartfire and The Crystal City that I don't know about?

There are two short stories. Yazoo Queen is one of them. I'm not sure what the other is.
Edit: You may have better luck on the other side of the river (the forum for Discussions About Orson Scott Card).
