Linky. This Lithuanian guy was caught, driving, with 7.27 per mille blood alcohol. 4 is usually considered a deadly dose. This guy was still walking, though not, apparently, talking. And yes, the police did check for a malfunction in their apparatus, but several different ones showed the same result.
This is what happens when people have been bred for alcohol tolerance for several centuries. You get men who can drink anyone under the table!

I'm always amused when I go to the Lithuanian fair that there are people who are drunk already at 10 in the morning (and they will most probably keep up the drinking all day long.) Apparently, any excuse to celebrate...

I was baffled when I was in Estonia and the little beer was the one in the liter glass. And that crazy Latvian whisky that's so dark you can't even tell it's a liquid and it leaves you with a whiskey mustache. I would have to agree with you about the Baltans.
