Thanks for the birthday greetings. Today is actually my birthday . . . ElJay just lucked out last night, having her name drawn for Serenity tickets in a lottery that her dad suggested she enter (he and I both entered, too). It was fun. But I didn't get my pedicure. *sigh*
Tante - that misplaced modifier is driving me nuts! But I won't fix it now.

ElJay, what did you think of the movie? No spoilers, just...does your response to it fall closer to Chris Bridges or mine? I'm hoping that you loved it, and that I was just smoking some particularly potent crack when I saw it or something.

Naw, even if my view of the movie falls in line with Noemon's after seeing it, I'm confident that I'll still enjoy it thoroughly.
It doesn't have to be the best movie ever. I'm not expecting another Objects in Space until Serenity 2: The Alliance Strikes Back. Added: This does not mean I have low expectations! I expect to like it.

I liked it, but I did not love it. For the most part. There were little parts that I loved. And my complaints are undoubtedly related to the format. . . it was a movie. They had to make changes to make it fit the movie format. So it was not Firefly. . . but it was Serenity, and that will have to be good enough.
And I don't know if it was just that it was because it was a preview, but they kept the volume up at "trailer" level throughout the entire thing. I will be bringing earplugs next time I see it. (Friday! Woo!)
It was also scarier than I, personally, am fond of, but in retrospect I understand why they did that, too.
We did not catch one of the beautiful Serenity t-shirts they were throwing out before the show, and we stayed to watch the credits so we didn't get the key-chains and posters, either. But that's okay. . . we got to see Serenity!

I pretty much agree with ElJay's comments. I did enjoy the movie - it was illuminating, exciting, funny, sad and scarey. And very loud. I, too, will take earplugs next time I see it. I will definitely see it again.

Thanks again for the birthday greetings. FG - I prefer "mom."
And as far as dkw's post . . . sibling rivalry is alive and well. Perhaps she was just yanking ElJay's chain.
