Slacker and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary in a couple of weeks. I'm looking for some ideas from the vast font of knowledge that is Hatrack. Here are your guidelines for the game:
We don't have much in the way of money at the moment (bought a new house last fall, are saving for a new car, and spent a bundle at the vet last week), so inexpensive is key.
Our anniversary is on a Monday, so I'm taking that day off and he is taking Sunday night off (and possibly Saturday night too - he works graveyards Th-Sun). Since we work opposing schedules, we don't get to spend much time with each other (so even just hanging out on the couch and watching movies would be fun, but I'm hoping for something a little more) and anything we do will probably involve him being sleep deprived (since he'll be flipping his sleeping schedule).
Since we live in the Phoenix area, it is a bit warm outside, so we probably won't want to spend the day outside (unless we drive somewhere cooler first).
We're pretty low key (read: boring) people, so it's hard to think of something fun we could do.
This is why I come to Hatrack: such intelligent minds should have great ideas (despite all our constraints)! Wow me with your brilliance and ingenuity!

Do you enjoy cooking? How about a gourmet candlelight dinner at home before hanging out on the couch and watching movies?

I know! Have you been to Jerome? What I love most about Phoenix is that you can go for an amazing hike right in the middle of the city. Heck, the city has made it all the way out to the mountains at this point!

I've been to Jerome - picture a 15 year old with her permit driving through Jerome in a full size Ford van - I don't remember much of the city, except being afraid I was going to destroy it.
I'll have to ask John if he's been there.

Thus far, he and I have talked about dinner (me making something fun/new/exotic) and maybe minigolf.

Once I had a datebook that had the anniversary gift themes in it. There were weird ones like paper, wood, leather. Spandex hadn't worked it's way in. Maybe I'll scrounge up a link.
Hey, it is the Leather anniversary! I think I use that little red guy too much. I think we might have forgotten that by our third. For us, it was the Lithium Anniversary.
