I think it's a great logo for a tshirt. I can't for the life of me figure out the significance of any of the elements, like what the rabbit is holding or why the dog is there, but I figure it's all inside knowledge.
If you wanted to put it on a letterhead in one color, you might have trouble, but it looks good for a tshirt.

Ahhh…. Cool. The Hash House Harriers are a hare and hound chase group. The hare, the led runner, lays out a trail with chalk (what he is holding) and the hounds (the rest of the runners) give chase after about a 15 minute head start. The hare is dressed up as a Mountaineer since West Virginia University (their mascot) is pretty much the local theme and team. He gave us a black and white version too. Didn’t even think about that being good for letter head. Cool. Having a logo when you didn’t before takes some getting used too!
