We are planning based on a 67% positive RSVP rate. With 16% of the precincts reporting, we are at 53%. Woo Hoo!

The thread title reminds me of the Simpsons episode when the family goes on public access TV and the geeky operator yells, "The switchboard is lighting up!"

Can I tell you that my mom might be coming too? She was a little ehhh... but I know she likes weddings, and she did express some genuine interest in coming if she didn't have to work or anything.
Now I can keep my RSVP stuff for posterity sake. Someday I will auction it off on Ebay for boocoo bucks.

afr -- it’s pathetic, I know. I was never one of those girls who dreamed about and planned her someday-wedding, but I’m getting all wedding-geeky now.
It's also a stress relief -- we sent a lot of invitations to relatives and co-workers that we didn't really expect to be able to come. If they surprized us and all came it would be pretty crowded at the reception. It's good to see that our guesses of who would and wouldn't come are (so far) pretty accurate.
And we met with the caterer yesterday to finalize the menu. There will be cheesecake. And fruit on little sticks.

Dana, is there any possible way you could send Xavier and I an offical invite? You gave an unoffical ok a long time ago and I really think we would be able to make it.
Are there any hotel rooms left?

Certainly. You don't need a paper invite to come (Hatrackers are automatically invited), but if it would make you feel more welcome I'd be glad to send one.
e-mail your address to me at dkw275 AT hotmail DOT com.

It's faintly possible that I'll be able to get away for this. As the chances of my attending seemed pretty remote, I haven't been keeping up on all the planning threads. When's the date? I have a gerneral idea, of course, butr nothing specific. What's the hotel situation? How last minute can I be in offering a firm yes or no on whether I'll be able to make it?
Edit--okay, I got some information from ElJay's thread on coordinating everyone's arrival. Saturday, April 2nd at 4:00 in Ames Iowa.
Now I just need to track down the Hotel thread and see what's up with that.

On the official RSVP deadline, we have received exactly 100 RSVPs. Which represents approximately 60% of the invitations sent out.
The numbers look good. We might even be able to get away with not setting up tables on the dance floor and evicting those people from their seats after dinner.

Dana, did you get mine? I gave it to teve to send, and he thought he had, but was not sure. You should have gotten it by now.

Does that mean it's okay I'm not coming? Or are you going to give it to me the day before or something?

It means I'm assigning the maid of honor to talk to the mother of the bride and make sure all the invitations were sent and/or delivered.

Hi, Dana. I will put the paper copy in the mail tomorrow just so you have it to confirm, but as I said at the Glorious Night of Henna, I'll be there for the wedding, but not the reception.
At least, definitely not eating and not needing a seat. My tummy has been wacking out lately, and I'll be wanting to drive back that night anyway. Can't stay too late with that. But I can't wait to see the two of you wed and see your family again!

I heard from my brother (who, by the way, DID get an invitation) and he's sending in all the tux measurements. He's the best man and all three of my nephews are going to be groomsmen. How cool!
And I found out from one of her daughters that it's likely my wonderful great aunt from Syracuse is probably going to attend. Whoa! This is amazing!!!
I wish I could get her to cook for all of you. Yum!

Actually, Mom knows where mine is. I just want the pretty stamp on it. So you better bring it up when you come this weekend.

I just got back from the post office and we have crossed the safety line – even if every single outstanding RSVP comes back positive we will be below the maximum capacity of the hall.
We’ll still need a few more negatives to make up for any Hatrackers or people from church who haven’t yet told me they’re coming, but I think we’re in the clear.

Mommy would probably kill me if I didn't show. But when do I get my stamp? You forgot it again last weekend...

Forgive me if I'm being too forward here, but was there an open invitation to all of Hatrack to attend this blessed event? I would love love love to come, but I don't want to be rude and just invite myself along.

Wheee! Okay, it's pretty short notice (the wedding's the first weekend in April, right?), but I'm gonna try to make it. I think in AJ's "who's riding with me?" thread she said she still had a seat open. I'll email her about that.
So, uh, can I still get a motel room, or will someone be nice enough to let me sleep on the floor of their room...?

And thanks for the reminder! I finally just remembered to book a room while it was during business hours!
