I took a look at cafepress, and they have a lot of products which we, Befriend Sri Lanka (charitable organization two friends and I are starting to help survivors of the tsunami deal with their grief), could sell to raise money for the organization, but their base price on many products is so high that it seems to me we'd have to charge an exhorbitant amount. The idea of things like calendars and postcards appeals to me, for example, because, heck, this is a tropical country and I've taken a lot of photos that would look very nice in such (not disaster ones, no. That would be icky.) I like that they have a fairly wide selection of products that we could choose from. It's just the base prices they have listed that's not attractive.
Do any of you know of any cafepress alternatives? I'm open to suggestions.
Another thing is that we'd like to give people the alternative of donating money without having to buy anything. I'm the webmaster and geek in charge, although Fahim helps out with things when he has time, but he's pretty busy, so this is stuff I have to figure out. I've never dealt with shopping carts or internet payment options or such before, so I'm not entirely sure what my best alternatives are. If you have suggestions for that, I'd appreciate it. For the record, PayPal is not an option. It doesn't work in Sri Lanka.
