I got the job!! This is like winning the lottery! My kids and I danced around a bit and then celebrated at Dairy Queen! I'm shocked and excited and feel like a little kid!
Woo-hoo!
Thanks for all the support and kind words I got from everyone at Hatrack.

Me too. I will be making about 3x what I'm making now and will get health benefits. I just hope I'm up to this challenge.

The last time I went to Dairy Queen, their vanilla shake almost sent me into a diabetic coma.
Zestos in L5, on the other hand, does pretty good milkshakes. I wouldn't trust anything else on the menu, but the ice cream and shakes are generally pretty good.

Gosh--what a great party we've got going on in here! Everyone is so kind!
We love DQ for their blizzards and pecan mudslides. If my kids and I want a milkshake, however, we go to Steak n Shake. I love their chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream even though I can feel the calories on my hips.
Trevor: I've never been to Zestos. I also haven't been to L5 in a long time. It sounds great!

I have been a part time English instructor at a local Technical college for a little over a year. An opening came up at the end of spring quarter, but it required a Master's (I don't have a Masters yet). None of the candidates the powers that be interviewed were right. Last week, they opened it for those of us with B.A.s and asked me to come and interview for the position. I interviewed on Thursday of last week. Last night, HR called and told me I had the position.
The coolest part is that this position gives me several important things: 1) a full time position 2) a step out of poverty 3) health benefits
I will make about three times what I earn now. I can pay off my car, actually have a savings account again and not feel so stressed when it's bill time. All I can say is that God is good!
I can also say that you all here at Hatrack are good too. Thanks for sharing my excitment and joy over all of this! Posts: 392 | Registered: Aug 2004
