I need some help selecting between Sprint and Cingular. Cingular is cheaper for more minutes but I hear the reception is poor and dropped calls are more frequent. anyone with first hand knowledge of these companies?

I just got a Verizon phone last month. So far, so good. I don't have much experience with Sprint and Cingular. Any particular reason you're limiting yourself to those two?

Sprint has horrible service...almost everywhere. Cingular just purchased AT&T, and now owns the largest coverage area of any American cell phone company...however, they still haven't integrated them completely yet, and I just don't like them on principle (I'm rather angry at AT&T --my provider-- for selling out). Verizon, however up until the Cingular purchase of AT&T had the largest coverage area, and pretty solid customer service as well. Satyagraha

I have a Verizon phone. BUT, I just moved and Verizon has no coverage in the new area. Just Sprint and Cingular.

AT&T's cell service was one of the most abysmally rated companies (of any kind) for customer service. Cingular is one of the best rated cell phone companies for cusotmer service. If Cingular can take AT&T's cell phone service's physical resources and add their human resources, they'll have a killer combo

I have www.savecell.com, and have been mostly happy, but I use it mostly for calls from the grocery store.

Have you tried T-Mobile? I like mine, but plan to switch to Verizon in November when my contract is up. Verizon's network is wider.
