I didn't view it because I figured I would be offended, but I think that the studio was very reasonable in its request. They even said they didn't mind parody, they just didn't want their own images and materials used for it.

Have you seen the actual trailer for this movie? It was very moving to me, and I'm, you know, a heathen.
I know there was some kerfluffle about the whole "This movie is anti-semitic" thing, so the tagline of the student thing would seem more offensive in that light (it ends with KILL CHRIST, in much the same way as the Kill Bill trailers ended with KILL BILL, so I didn't take that badly, but it was disturbing to see it set to dance music (which was also in KILL BILL, I have the soundtrack)).
The real trailer looks good, though. This could be one of those risk-taking movies that pays off.

I've seen the original trailer, and I had a similar reaction. Goosebumps and all, you know? I'm really looking forward to seeing what Mel Gibson did with it.
I'm easily amused though, and I don't take things too seriously, no matter the context. So I found the parody really funny.
In fact, I think I would have found the parody less amusing if I had not seen the original.
