I first heard of Alvin this summer when I met a fellow seventh son. I wondered if there were a lot of us out there. I personally have 6 older brothers, 4 older sisters and 1 younger brother. I'm really enoying the series and just finished book four;Alvin Jouneyman.

Clearly, I need to do spell check before I send out a post. I do ENJOY the series.

And Journeyman--just excited to possibly meet other seventh sons.

My understanding is that most 7th sons are evil. Alvin is an abberation. [Wink]

Welcome to hatrack, Horness.

Ignoring for a second the chronology of your birth...you have eleven brothers and sisters? Damn.

I find a single brother rather trying.

Is there anything special for the fifth of seven cousins? Or the fourth of four? I'm also the second son of the second son.

Genealogy aside, welcome to Hatrack.

I...am an only only. The only child of my adoptive birthparents, and the only of either one of my birth parents.

I'm not a seventh son, but I am a ten-month child. LOOK OUT! GRRR!!! *wiggles fingers menacingly at you*

Thanks for the welcome--and yes I have 11 siblings.

:licks fingers:

Are your siblings as delicious as you?

When did you start eating n00bs?

And why didn't you share?

Posted by Scott R (Member # 567) on :

I started shortly after Slash left.

I don't share because there's rarely enough to share.

Wow - I don't know whose mother had it worse CHorness's or Libbie's!!! On one hand, 12 kids is alot of time spent pregnant - but on the other, 10 months - YIKES!

heh - my sister was also packed around for 10 months. I don't know who had it worse, either!

YIKES! I hope you didn't inherit that particular gestational trait!

These days you'd likely end up with an induction or C-section no later than week 42.

Rivka - true! These days I probably would. My sister just had her first baby, about two weeks past her due date, so he was almost there. [Wink] She was very worried about being induced or having a C-section forced upon her, but her plans worked out well and she was able to have him at home, drug-free (at 10 pounds, 10 ounces!!)

DDDaysh - Happily for me, I will never find out! I've never wanted to have children, and neither has my husband, who was the eldest of 10 kids in his family and got his share of child-rearing early on in life. I like hanging out with kids (and volunteer twice a week at a kids' educational center), but being a parent has just never appealed to me for some reason. Maybe I picked up on some of my mom's GET OUT OF ME RIGHT NOW! vibes while in the womb, I don't know. Ha ha!

I'm a first son of a first son of a first son.

That should give me some sort of magic powers right?
