i haven't had the opportunity to visit the site in awhile. i have, however, had time to read the homecoming series.

LOVED it. i am starting to think there is nothing mr. card can right that i won't like. i have absolutely fallen in love with every book of his that i have read.

the homecoming series was wonderful. it was highly amusing and really got my analytical, non-religious mind flying. i thoroughly enjoyed each book. i felt kind of odd when starting on the memory of earth. i found myself thinking at times, "wait a minute. he's not supposed to make jokes or oneliners of a riske, sexual nature." it was startling at first, but also refreshing and quite entertaining.

of course, i wanted to beat Rasa's daughters stupid. i personally think sevet got exactly what she deserved in the first novel. although kokhor was no better.

god, i'm just in love with mr. card's written word and am so thrilled at the prospect of eventually owning every piece of his work i can find. i know, i'm a geek. [Smile]

If his grocery list was published, would you buy it? That's how you'll know if you just like it because it has OSC's name on the cover or if you actually like the story [Big Grin]

well, as far as the grocery list goes, i cracked up laughing. i realize i sound a little overzealous sometimes. i meant actual published works that were intended to be stimulating and entertaining.

i know that i like the books for the stories themselves, because i have at times found myself thinking that some things were a little drawn out and wishing some detail was different. it's not that i think it's all perfect, but it is damn good, and i know i couldn't come up with better.

however, i have now completed 13 of his books in less than 6 months, and i haven't wanted to put a single one down. i actually enjoy reading again. as far as i'm concerned, he has accomplished what every writer dreams of, even if i don't like any other piece i eveer read by the man. he has had his life's work appreciated for what it is and has made people really examine myriads of socially accepted ideals that were taken only at face value previously as means to conform to what "they" want us/it to be.

enough of my babbling. i'm just impressed by good writers. there are many writers who i love only one piece of work accredited to them. dickens, bradbury, steinbeck, etc. it's rare that i find an author who manages to keep my, admittedly, often short attention span. [Smile]

i'm not offended by people who state their opinions and support them. i'm offended by those who refuse to allow other opinions to be heard or even fathom that they could be wrong about something. i believe that i will enjoy his political essays and non fictional works. i appreciate someone who is passionate about their ideals without insisting that everyone must agree with them.

delusional, at his worst (usualy during elections) Mr Card does not even fathom that he could be wrong about something. He does allow for other opinions, in the forums.
