Mmm, and new Barcelona? what is it equivalent?

I have copies of the first 5 books combined into 2 large ones. They have nice maps of the country and cities. Do the regular books have them as well?

Just a thought... I don't remeber the relevancy of Franklin in the book...But there is a Franklin, TN just outside of Nashville.

I seem to recall OSC himself saying that Hatrack River wasn't made after a 'specific' town, rather it was designed so that it could be a number of locations in that area.

Good work on most of them. Nueva Barcelona is New Orleans. But Hatrack does not correspond to ANY existing town. It's wholly made up.

Which is why this forum is called Hatrack, so it won't be "biased" towards any Man dwelling.

Good luck getting the portion of your life spent on finding this stuff back.

tater, I can think of worse ways to spend time... at least it is a good review of some geography.
Was the tower of water at the lake on lake michigan? or was it lake huron, i dont remeber... and was 8 faced mound referred to as being in flint, michigan? or did I just make that up in my head? (I used to live near flint michigan, and would find hundreds of arrowheads in the woods behind my house.)

one thing for the eight face mound it is in ohio according to the map at the start of every book.
and also don't worry it took me only one night less if i'm correct but what does it matter

What about that 8-faced mound? Did that exist before OSC came up with it? Fascinating image.
(I've been to animal mounds in OH, but they weren't big enough to get lost on --!)

Where's Greensboro?

Carthage is just Carthage. That's a real city in Illinois. The place where Joseph Smith died.

Sorry to revive a dead thread but ...
I am still a bit curious about 8 face mound. The only thing my research has ever lead me to was an octagonal mound in OHio (currently a golf course). and I've looked at that spot through the sat images in google maps. The mounds that I have seen of that structure shown the mounds of the spot to not be very high.
Are we to think that it is the same place, but image that the mounds are much higher to constitute the "getting lost" inside as well as to constitute them "climbing" one of the faces of the mound(or where 2 faces meet).
