I've seen a few things about Mike Fink lately, he's in an old Davy Crockett movie where he races Davey in his keelboat and claims to be the toughtest, smartest, strongest, best looking, etc... and he eats his hat when Davy beats him

He's a bit of American Folk lore legend like Paul Bunyan and Davy Crockett too...kind of an interesting guy

whadda you think about Mike Fink?

Good guy. I'd want the new Fink to be my friend, most definitely. You can count on him and he'll beat the crap out of anyone who's a danger to you.

I love that OSC dropped in William Blake. Well, more like made a major character. Anyways.

I think what's most interesting is that the reformation of Mike Fink opened a narrative void that Card had to fill with Jim Bowie. [Smile]

I love that he we worked Abe Lincoln into a major part in the plot in Crystal City. That just blew me away.
