Ok i just finished Earthfall and i can say that i absolutely love the first four books. I just started Earthborn and can say i'm frankly disgusted. OSC you spent 4 books building up characters like Nafai, Luet, Elemek, and Eiadh, and many more, then you just go throw them away for the conclusion? Especialy tossing away the two main characters Elemak and Nafai. Who ever tosses aside heir main characters to never beused again except for memory in the conclusion? This last book, though i have not finished it, could have gone many different ways but it seems that the way you did it destroyed ALL of your characters except for one which could have been avoided, and in my opinion created a better conclusion. Sorry for the bit of negativity but i felt this series was amazin and could have much better potential if the characters were left intact. Sorry for insulting your ideas too OSC just trying to express my views.

Hey lets not get accusational, but yes I was also a little let down, while Earthfall was a good book it dissapointed me that Nafai and Elemak didn't have a 'final showdown' of sorts, I dont even mean a fight as much as just a redemption or something for both of them, but then again without the two tribes fighting each other their wouldn't be much material for Earthfall. Uncle Orson's books can be quite an adjustment, after reading EG and moving on to SFTD I had trouble adjusting to the change of writing style and characters, I read the first 50 pages or so of Speaker and didn't like it and put it down for a while, but a few weeks later I picked it up and had the best read of my life - and I mean that. The switch to Xenocide kinda had the same thing, different issues where expanded in size and the switch to Wang-Mu and (uhh cant spell right now) Quing-Jao? and the whole Path culture. But once again Xenocide turned out to be an awesome read. So basically while the change in books can be difficult, they usually turn out to be awesome.

Oh i dotn doubt that it wont be a good book, i just was let down that Nafai and Elemak had no final confrontation and i didnt want to let go of the characters Nafai and Luet, i had really grown to likeing that pair. But oh well maybe someday OSC will go back and write an alternate ending and conclusion but i wont get m hopes up.
