I bought a hardcover copy of Magic Street really cheap. I was at a used book store. How cheap, you ask.

Picture this: a buck.

*Is jealous*
I just went to the bookstore, and bought Shadow of the Giant finally, plus a bunch of other books. I wanted to buy Magic Street, but being up-to-date on the Shadow series, reading the penultimate book of the Crown of Stars series, and reading one novel and one novella of the Miles Vorkosigan series was higher on my list.
But if it had been a dollar, my one-dollar purchase of the Artemis Fowl Files would never have happened.

Libraries are only an option if you live in a metropolis that has one with hours decent enough to go to, and enough books to make it worth it. I personally live in a rural area. I'm not even sure our COUNTY library has any OSC books, but I can't imagine it has many if it does. Of course, I'd never know, because it's only open from 9-4 on weekdays. On the otherhand, I've been buying all my books for years, and love used bookstores, so it would be really hard for me to borrow a book and have to return it, and not have it there to read again if I wanted to.

Well, yes, if the library has the book I want to read, and if I can get my parents to take time out of their day to take me to the library. Otherwise...no.

Reading the above made me realize just how much I yearn for the days when i had no car and was not yet old enough to care. Summer Vacations are what Im thinking of.

All the neighborhood kids would get together around 9 or 10 in the morning and go play baseball (using a tennis ball of course) in eric's court, then we'd play football in doug's front yard in the afternoon, and then we'd play basketball in the evening and night hours in my driveway. man those were good times. No responsibilities at all except chores at the house.

Did I mention how much i HATE video games?

And I thought getting EG in paperback for a quarter was a good deal...

I'm very jealous, Steve.
