Scott's literary short story "A Brief Swell of Twilight" won a $1000 prize as the top entry for the 2006 Fiction Award from the
Briar Cliff Review. The story will be published in their 2007 issue.
His story "Excision" that he used as his application piece to get into Boot Camp
was published in new editor Ann VanderMeer's first issue of Weird Tales
magazine in December 2007.
